Snuffbox mussel (Epioblasma triquetra).  These little mussels and others in the genus Epioblasma trap host fish by clamping the shell shut on the fish's head.  The primary host of snuffbox is logperch, a widespread darter that turns stones to find food and is therefore likely to stick its nose into a trap.  The sharp points on the edges of the shell help to prevent the fish from escaping until the mussel has placed glochidia on its gills.
